Welcome to my Downtown Eastside Blog
Hi Everyone!
Well I don't know about you but the political game has bitten me. Ouch I'm not sure I like that since pain is not something I endure well, but being a colourful outspoken character, I readily admit to feeling the need to diss as much as the rest of you. So here goes my attempt to earn my stripes. Speaking of Stripes I hear Libby Davies doesn't wear them well. On another front and speaking of praise, Ms Davies apparently is being championed as Saint Libby to the Downtrodden of the Downtown East side. Mmmmmmmm I wonder if Peter and Paul are in tow!!!! Jesus, never being one to shy away from outspokenness as apparently neither does Ms Davies, and thus Jamie Lee's Blog of the Downtown East side is born.
Hence, here are my observations from underbelly of Vancouver, the Downtown East side. Either love them or hate them, I promise to add some spice and leave no stone unturned in my efforts to be entertaining, colourful, objective and enlightening.
Let the fun and games begin!!!! Blasting off, first brickbat goes to Ms Davies.
Taking exception to a remark made by Van-East candidate Shirley Chan about government waste, Libby D wasted no time in raising the rainbow flag. Presenting herself as a victim of homophobia is troubling. NDP'er Davies just a few days ago, claimed she was discriminated against by a visible minority woman of Asian heritage, namely Shirley Chan, gets nixed reviews from this writer.
But to properly understand Ms Davies, lets turn back the clock to a year ago. Stating then to the public that she was now in a same sex marriage, but this didn't make her a Lesbian (XtraWest newspaper)was odd. This comment though in light of Libby's recent claim of homophobia needs further examination. This type of Libby politik leaves further questions.
Namely is Libby only Out occasionally or only when its most convenient to her political opportunities. For the record, most if not all gay and lesbian activists maintain homosexuals didn't choose to be gay or lesbian. Researchers also confirm this, yet here is Libby Davies articulating the opposite. Essentially Ms Davies seems to be saying, its an issue of choice and thats why I'm now in a same sex relationship. Sadly this type of Davies analysis fits in well with the Stephen Harper Conservative party. Tsk Tsk Ms Davies!!!! Self Serving or Saint, June 28th will tell.
Stay Tuned.
