WHERE ARE MAYOR CAMPBELL'S FUNDRAISING DOLLARS GOING?

As many citizens re-call, Mayor Larry Campbell, in the spring held a number of fundraisers for his Mayoral re-election. Many developers and bar owners of the Davie Village contributed to the coffers for his fall election bid. They expected Mr Campbell to run again for Mayor. At that time, Mayor Campbell did not articulate that he wasn't going to seek re-election. A number of people attended Mayor Campbell's dinners to show support.

Now that Mayor Campbell has decided NOT to seek re-election, a looming question is whether he feels it necessary to return the funds generated from a number of those events.

In particular there are rumblings from many who attended and supported Mayor Campbell who are not willing to support the candidacy of Jim Green for Mayor. They do NOT expect their donations to wind up in a slush fund for a Jim Green Mayoral bid.

One wonders if Mayor Campbell is willing to reach out to the various donors and find out whether they would like their generous contributions returned? If Mayor Campbell doesn't do this, a looming question is whether this is ethical political fundraising?

Mayor Campbell, you owe it to the citizens of this City to answer this very important question. Please do not delay in informing the public what these funds will be used for.

If you remain silent Mr Campbell, I think this may be a serious breach of public trust and I would expect the police to investigate.

Please act accordingly.

Give me a break guys - it's just slimy to take a political party's domain name and use it to confuse the electorate. I'm not a Vision Vancouver cheerleader or anything - I'd say the same thing of anyone attacking the NPA or COPE in this manner. Give it up.

votevision.ca is where the real website is.

Thanks to Public Eye Online for revealing this slimy behaviour. Provincial conservative president Ryan Warawa is apparently responsible for these charade websites.

If this really was posted by Jamie Lee, it just shows what a shallow opportunist you have become, siding with dishonest and corrupt "conservatives" (conservative in name only, as they lack any moral fibre!) like the Warawas.

This is not just sleazy -- it's lazy! The sites "Hainsey" refers to actually took some work to set up! Ryan Warawa is such a lamebrain that he can't even do that, instead he represents a page from someone else's blog as his own content. Maybe his old teachers should check his schoolwork for plagiarism too ...

The whole point of the link was to raise attention to the questions regarding fund use. These are serious allegations, and neither Jim Green nor Larry Campbell have yet stated that funds for those who wanted to support Larry, and not being rediverted.

Jamie had nothing to do with the site registration, and Ryan Warawa had nothing to do with the post. He linked it to this to bring attention to the issues.

Are we no longer allowed to question the obvious?

It seems that there are very few people with backbones in this city. When someone like Mr. Warawa stands up and attempts to inform people of the corruption and ill-moralled behind the smoke and mirrors, people jump all over him. These people are the people that obviously don't care about their fellow man or city. So what if he's a conservative, that seems to be your biggest fault with him. At least he's got some moral direction and is making an effort to inform people. What happened to freedom of speech? Is this no longer a free country? Evidently Mr. Warawa believes so. Good for him, can't say much for some others.

As has been said earlier, this is a cheap trick using this domain to fool me in to reading your rhetoric. I am not a Vision supporter but I did want to compare party platforms to make an educated decision. I find these tactics detestable whatever the political bias is of the perpetrator.
