INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Tomorrow Saturday, March 8, 2008, is International Women's Day and many celebrations are planned.

MP Dr Hedy Fry is hosting a complimentary IWD continental breakfast at 8:30am at the YWCA Downtown - 535 Hornby Street in the MacMillan Bloedel room. Please consider joining us.

At 11am there is a IWD march from Thornton Park to Victory Square. The group FIRST, are women, long active in the feminist movement and are very supportive of sex trade worker rights. They have a banner and are asking others to join them in this empowering march. The march starts from the Women's monument in Thornton Park. Just look for the FIRST banner. I'll be mingling with the FIRST bunch at the start of the March.

Also celebrating IWD is Green candidate for Vancouver Quadra, Dan Grice, who will be campaigning at 1pm at the corner of 41st Avenue and West Boulevard. The Rainbow Coalition will be present with Mr. Grice, including yours truly.
