PIVOT LOSES APPLICATION for STANDING

PIVOT legal society has lost its request for Standing in Supreme Court to test the constitutionality of our outdated prostitution laws.

A setback for sex worker equality rights but there is still another case proceeding in Ontario.

The question now is whether PIVOT decides to appeal the ruling.

I've just finished reading the ruling and I had reservations when PIVOT decided to move the challenge forward without current sex workers leading the challenge and this is primarily what the Judge based his decision on.

PIVOT though must be supported and moreover, the Sex worker Cooperative must open even if it doesn't have municipal approval.

The safety of sex workers is paramount and leaving them to work in deserted areas and inhumane conditions is not acceptable.

Rally and fundraiser for PIVOT and the Sex Worker Cooperative this Wednesday, December 17 at the Royal Unicorn Cabaret in Chinatown. Doors at 7pm.

Great entertainment, auctioning of the City's finest Boys in blue and our hard-working Firefighters should be a blast.
