ANOTHER HIGH LEVEL RESIGNATION at PRIDE

ANOTHER HIGH LEVEL RESIGNATION at PRIDE

Another high level resignation has occurred at Pride. Last evening the Vice-President Laura McDiarmid resigned citing personal reasons. Just last month the Treasurer Richard Boulier resigned citing personal reasons. This brings the resignations of two executive officer positions at Pride since November, 2008.

Ms McDiarmid and Mr Boulier were the two most experienced officers of the board. Ms McDiarmid has been Chair and Vice-Chair of the Vancouver Park Board and Mr Boulier owned a number of Vancouver, BC and New Brunswick businesses.

People need to ask what these resignations "due to personal reasons" really mean.

The spending flurry at Pride continues with continuous trips for board members. In the latest go round, last night the board approved another trip for the President. This one to Zurich and at a meeting two weeks ago, the board approved sending two board members to Montreal at a cost of $1,500.00

This wild spending continues unabated even though Pride lost its primary sponsor VanCity and is having difficulties attracting new sponsors according to the Pride Sponsorship contractor.

You may want to restate the bit about Laura and Richard being the most experienced officers of the Board. That is a very subjective statement and not very well sourced. By the same arguments you presented, Alan Herbert is the most experienced officer on the Board, being a former Chair of Pride.

Just my two cents...

I said Ms McDiarmid and Mr Boulier were the two most experienced Officers of the Board.

Mr Herbert is not an officer of the bopard.

The statement remains that this is another high profile resignation and people in the community are not stupid and will begin to ask why these resignations are going on. Especially the citing of resigning for "personal resons".
