WHO IS SHELBY TRACY TOM/DINNER and BENEFIT

Hi All!

Shelby 'Tracy' Tom was an amazing beautiful and intelligent woman who had been involved in Vancouver's sex trade for most of her life.

Ms Tom though knew the sex trade has a limited shelf life and so while working the high track area at night, went to SFU during the day and obtained her teaching degree. She hoped to eventually work with children. She like so many other sex workers had a conviction for solicitation and this she knew was going to be a impediment to gaining employment in the teaching profession. However, she hoped to receive a pardon.

Most unfortunately, a year and a half ago, Shelby was brutally murdered in North Vancouver. Her murderer has been ccaptured and just last week was in court to fix a date for trial.

Therefore it is our group's desire to address the difficulties in life Sex Trade Workers face and so we are hosting the 1st annual Shelby 'Tracy' Tom Dinner and Benefit.

Change the Code Canada is hosting on Tuesday Feb 15,2005, the 1st annual Shelby Tracy Tom Dinner and Benefit. We will also be paying tribute to former City Councilor and police board member Lynne Kennedy who will be in attendance with us.

Our great MC's for the evening will be Park Board Commissioner Suzanne Anton and Raven Bowen from PACE.

Marika Sandrelli from the International Union of Sex Workers will be our guest speaker. Tickets are $50.00 and there will be a silent auction. Time 6pm-9pm at Honey in the Lotus Hotel - 455 Abbott street.

Tickets are available from Jamie Lee or at the door! Please RSVP by email tricia_foxx@yahoo.com.
