Co-Op Radio Tribute

October 3, 2014 Last night yours truly appeared on Co-op radio the Fruit Salad show. This hour and a half special edition show was in honour of community hero Jim Deva. The show was fast-paced, deeply moving, real and sincere. Appearing and paying tributes to Jim were popular Van-East MP Libby Davies who called in from Ottawa, the unstoppable and amazing entertainer Connie Smudge, City Councilor Tim Stevenson, the Vancouver Men's Chorus' Conductor Willi Zwozdesky and past President Gord (the Chorus performed two show-stopping songs at Jim's service), Van-Centre MP Dr Hedy Fry was pre-recorded and brought some laughter and gayiety. She let listeners in on how while Jim always reminded her that he was NDP that he loved her because she was so much like a drag queen. I also learned from Conni Smudge that because she lives in North Van and performs in Vancouver that Jim made the Little Sisters washroom available to assemble herself. Daddy Deva then would do a fashion critique on Connie as she emerged from the dressing room/washroom. Of course the show could not have happened without the longtime show host Skyy and his producer Jacques. I hope you were listening in Daddy Deva. You would have loved it!!!.
