THANKSGIVING DAY MESSAGE

Many folks today will be sharing with their families, this meaningful time of year. As they should. I hope these families continue to be blessed with health, happiness and peace.

In other parts of the world, there is much turmoil and conflict. Let us hope for resolutions to the difficult times for those citizens.

World disasters are occurring with greater frequency and I'm certain this has many of us alarmed. While we live in relative safety due to the richness of our country, I cannot help but think of those less fortunate. Things we take for granted, many citizens can't.

At a local level, let us join together and work across our differences to ensure better opportunities for all. Let's address the plight of those less fortunate who are living in third world like conditions in my neighborhood of the Downtown Eastside.

Let us join our minds and hearts together to create real solutions and not band-aid ones.

Finally, I ask everyone to Reach out and Touch Someone's Hand, they may just need that helping hand.

Finally, let us all embrace the Values of Inclusion, Tolerance, Equality and Human Kindness. The world will be a much better place if we do.

Shalom (Peace)
